JOB VACANCIES

We have a small team who get involved with everything. When we do have vacancies we are looking for candidates with can do attitudes who are team players but able to work under their own steam as much of the work is carried out individually.

PARK WARDEN

We are currently looking for a permanent Park Warden to join our small team from September onwards.

The Follies is based within 100 acres of Parkland, with approximately 4 miles of walking trail paths to maintain. Jobs include strimming, blowing leaves, emptying bins, helping with maintenance repairs and assisting with visitor admissions on occasion.

As part of a two person wardening team, this role includes a mix of working independently and working with our Senior Park Warden dependent on task and time of year.

Alongside park maintenance throughout the year, the role also includes helping to build Santa's Grotto in November and assisting with the event throughout December weekends and evenings.

Being practically minded with good common sense and a can do attitude are just as important as previous job experience. Work is outside in all weathers. The site is set on three natural sandstone hills. Wardens are required to access all areas of the Park, some are accessible by driving a company 4x4 vehicle, some only by foot, so both good levels of physical fitness and a full drivers license is essential for this role.

A varied role, suitable for someone who can be flexible with their hours to suit the business.

Annualised hours equivalent to average 40 hours per week. Usually 5 days per week 8:30-5 or 9-5:30, but will depend on time of year. Working minimum 2 weekends out of 3. Evening work required during December Follies Santa event.

Salary equivalent to Living Wage.

We need you!

To help protect important habitat and allow wildlife to thrive, we need to know what is here at The Follies

Large scale surveys can help but often show a small moment in time.

Your photos could help us! If you have taken photos of any of the wildlife, from birds, insects, fungi, mammals or plants, we would love to add them to our archive. Just email them to follies@hawkstone.co.uk with the date they were taken, and a rough location on the Park.
